Project Summary
Appointed by Sheffield based HE Barnes, ECS were asked to undertake the Testing & Commissioning and Water Treatment/Hygiene of the flagship new home of Wakefields CAPA College.
CAPA College provides full-time training and education in all aspects of creative and performing arts from dance and drama to musical theatre, production arts, film and media. The £9million project was delivered on behalf of the Department for Education with support fro Enhance Academy Trust, the multi million pound facility houses a 150-seat theatre, 10 recording studios, dance studios, drama work shops, a multimedia and tech suite and an outdoor amphitheatre. The site will also incorporate a cafe, social learning spaces and breakout areas, lecture theatres and classrooms.
Mechanical services set to work by our engineers included; 35 Mitsubishi Lossnay Units, 150-seater
Theatre AHU, Kitchen Supply AHU, Kitchen Extract Fan, supply and extract fans serving breakout and student welfare areas, primary and secondary low temperature hot water CT and VT systems serving radiant panels and heating coils and DWS (domestic water services) distribution systems.
Our engineers also carried out the pre-commission chemical cleaning, flushing and dosing of all heating
distribution pipework in accordance with BSRIA BG 29/2020. As well as the Chlorination of the Domestic Water Services and sample analysis to BS EN 806-4:2010, BS 8558:2015, PD 855468:2015 AND HSE ACoP L8:2013 standards.
